My name is Ben; I’m a junior studying broadcast journalism at UWM. In the past couple years I’ve been a student here, I’ve taken time to explore my Jewish identity and grow as an active member within the Jewish student community, and I work to continue developing our community so that many new faces can start playing active roles as well.
Dayna is a proud hippie-kid transplant from Southern California and Jewish Studies student here at UWM. They have a background in leadership through Jewish teen organizations and the URJ Camp system, and has spent the last four years dedicated to creating a consciously Jewish life for themself and their communities, in synagogue, at camp, and now at Hillel Milwaukee. Dayna’s passions are intersecionality within Jewish spaces and communities, as well as Frida Kahlo, all things kosher/vegan and nut-free, exploring self-expression, and expanding their kippah collection, and their goal is to someday complete El Camino de Santiago de Compostela.
Hi my name is Nicole and I'm a junior at UWM studying advertising and public relations! I like ice breakers, eating yummy (all) food, playing with my dog, writing, talking a ton, and raving about my love for Israel!! Hillel gives me an awesome Jewish community where I always feel comfortable to be myself. I can't wait to meet a ton of you whether it's at Shabbat, the library, or at The Roast! See you soon :)
My name is Leah. I'm a sophomore at UWM, majoring in nursing with the intention to one day be a nurse practitioner or nurse anesthetist. I love listening to music, journaling, and playing with my rabbit moo moo (who is my child and my best friend). I am a first generation American in my family, with a Russian background, and I have 4 older brothers and 1 younger brother. I love being at Hillel because the people make the environment somewhere I can express myself freely. I can't wait to see what this year has to come.
My name is Samantha (Sammi) Drizner and I am a junior at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee studying journalism, advertising and public relations, and media studies. I am from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, but I'm happy to be here in Milwaukee. I chose to join Hillel because I love the feeling of being around others who are Jewish like me on campus. Hillel always feels like a second home and is very welcoming to everyone, regardless of religion. I look forward to another amazing year of activities and events here at Hillel Milwaukee.
My name is Logan G. Zoot and I am a freshman at UWM, majoring in Political Science. This year, I'm serving as the Freshman Representative on the Hillel Milwaukee student board. I'm from Buffalo Grove, Illinois, and when I'm not keeping myself busy with something Jewish, I'm messing with my Rubik's cube collection, enjoying outdoor activities, or eating absolutely everything around me.
I am currently a
senior at Marquette University majoring in Social Welfare & Justice with a
minor in Spanish and Political Science and I hope to go into Student Affairs and
Diversity Work. I am originally from Hawthorn Woods, Illinois, a northern
suburb of Chicago. I am currently President of the Jewish Student Union
at Marquette, and am holding the position of the Marquette Representative for Hillel.
I also help lead services for Shabbat dinner! I love meeting new
students and participating in all the fun and exciting events that Hillel has
to offer! I am so happy to have found such a great community of Jewish students
in Milwaukee, and look forward to meeting many more new people in the years to
come. Feel free to contact me at any time; my email is firstname.lastname@example.org!
My name is Sarah Weiss and
I study at UW-Milwaukee as an English major. I'm originally from Brooklyn, New
York but enjoying my experience here in the Midwest! I am beyond excited to a
part of making Hillel an excellent resource for Jewish students in the
community. In my free time I enjoy writing, singing, drinking coffee, and exploring
the city of Milwaukee
